Failure of Ditylenchus dipsaci to Promote Infection by an Antagonistic Strain of Corynebacterium insidiosum. G. A. Nelson, Plant Pathologist, Research Station, Research Branch, Canada Department of Agriculture, Lethbridge, Alberta; E. J. Hawn, Plant Pathologist, Research Station, Research Branch, Canada Department of Agriculture, Lethbridge, Alberta. Phytopathology 61:1097-1098. Accepted for publication 12 April 1971. DOI: 10.1094/Phyto-61-1097.

Corynebacterium insidiosum and an antagonistic variant of the species that was inhibitory to the growth of C. insidiosum in culture induced wilt symptoms in wounded roots. Only C. insidiosum infected alfalfa when transmitted to crown buds by the alfalfa stem nematode, Ditylenchus dipsaci. Neither strain affected the action of the nematode.
