“Motley Dwarf” Virus Disease Complex of California Carrots. C. J. Krass, Research Assistant, Department of Plant Pathology, University of California, Berkeley 94720; D. E. Schlegel, Professor and Chairman, Department of Plant Pathology, University of California, Berkeley 94720. Phytopathology 64:151-152. DOI: 10.1094/Phyto-64-151.

Three morphologically distinct virus types were found in field samples of “motley dwarf” -infected carrots. Host range studies suggest that more than three viruses are involved. At least two aphids are vectors of one or more of these viruses. No evidence of seed transmission was found.
