Two variants of tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV) were isolated from tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) and pepper (Capsicum annuum), respectively, in different regions of Morocco. The tomato isolate was serologically identical to the type strain (American Type Culture Collection PV 90) whereas the pepper isolate could be clearly differentiated by test plant and serological reaction. This is apparently the first report of natural infection of pepper by TBSV.
