Occurrence of Stem Necrosis on Field-Grown Tomatoes Incited by Pseudomonas corrugata in Florida. J. B. Pith necrosis and hollowing of tomato stems was observed in 20 fields of tomatoes. A yellowish bacterium was consistently isolated. Based on biochemical, physiological, and pathogenicity tests, the bacterium was identified as Pseudomonas corrugata.
