​​Plant Health 2004 field trips allow you to embark on a journey of exploration and enrichment in Memphis, Tennessee. Make the most out of your annual meeting experience by selecting from one of the diverse event offerings. From a blooming art tour to a bingo showdown in the urban forest, there is an immersive experience for everyone. ​

All field trips take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Pre-registration is required for all field trips. Space is limited – register early​! ​




Art in Bloom​

Saturday, July 27 • 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Visit a production nursery, an art gallery garden, and a top attraction area in Memphis. This adventure starts at Production Nursery, a wholesale nursery specializing in herbaceous and woody ornamental production. The next stop is the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, where fine art meets living collections through rotating exhibitions in the museum and gardens and unique events and educational experiences. Dixon strives to unite people and cultivate an appreciation for art and horticulture. The day concludes at the Memphis Botanic Garden, a 96-acre property with 28 specialty gardens, which provide an in-depth look into various families of plants, flowers, and trees. Memphis Botanic Garden strives to enhance lives by connecting people with nature and increasing awareness and appreciation of our environment.

West TN AgResearch Stations Field Crops Tour

Saturday, July 27 • 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Explore the newest technology being investigated in field crop research at the AgResearch and Education Center at Milan. Discover innovations like 'see and spray' weed management, drone imaging, spore trap samplers, and soil moisture sensors, all investigated by faculty from diverse backgrounds. Learn how these advancements fit into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and see the collaborative efforts between researchers and extension agents in action. Plus, enjoy a fascinating tour of the Ag Museum at the Milan station, showcasing the evolution of agricultural technologies. Lunch, dinner, and a distillery tour included. APS Gives Back

Join us for a rewarding experience at a local donation center partnered with OutMemphis! Get hands-on as we organize donations for the LGBTQ community, spreading love and support to those in need. Together, we will sort clothing, household items, and more – making a direct impact on individuals and families in the LGBTQ community. Learn about the power of community support while making a difference. Lunch will provided by OutMemphis.
