Careers 101 Workshop: Strategic Conversations
March 10, 2025 | 12:00–1:45 p.m.
Not all conversations are easy, and professionals should have a tactical approach for challenging situations. Whether having a difficult conversation with a colleague, giving constructive feedback, negotiating your salary, or just saying “no,” it is important to know what to do when challenging situations arise. This workshop will provide students and early career professionals with some tips for developing critical interpersonal skills.

Get to know your fellow graduate students and post-docs and discuss the role and future goals of graduate students and postdocs within the Division. Be sure to join in to learn the results of the Southern Division Graduate Student Representative election and meet Southern Division's new Graduate Student Representative! This networking event is open to both divisions.

Enjoy an evening of food and drink with your Division friends and colleagues. Winners of the competitions and Division awards will be all be recognized. You don't want to miss out on this yearly tradition. This event is included in the registration fee. Add to your registration if you plan on attending. Field Tour: UF/IFAS Plant Science Research and Education Unit Excursion (Field Tour)

Take a ride to the UF/IFAS Plant Science & Education Unit in Citra, FL to see some of the exciting field research happening in Florida. Have lunch with your colleagues and then finish with a tour of the Plant Pathology Department in Gainesville.
