Caribbean Division Travel Grants

​The APS-CD Travel Grant is intended to increase opportunities for students attending the Division Meeting. Two travel grants of $1,000 each will be available to APS-CD student members giving oral presentations at the division meeting. 

Application Requirements

  • A 1-3 page resume or CV, the abstract to be submitted for the oral presentation at the meeting
  • Two (2) recommendation letters (one should be from the thesis or dissertation advisor)
  • A 3-4 paragraph essay explaining their vision and goals as it relates to plant pathology research.
  • Required materials are to saved into one pdf file

Applicant Requirements

  • ​Be enrolled as a regular student in an accredited University in the Caribbean, Greater and Lesser Antilles, Central and South America or active members working in subtropical or tropical world zones at the time the paper is submitted.
  • Be a member in good standing of the Division at the time the paper is  submitted and travel grant distributed.
  • Be the sole or senior author of the paper.
  • Present the paper orally at the annual meeting of the APS Caribbean Division.

Students who receive a travel grant will not be eligible to apply for a travel grant the following year. Preference will be given to students who have never received an APS-CD divisional travel grant. Students who receive a travel grant will compete in the student oral paper competition.
