 APS Foundation General Fund
This fund supports current and future initiatives that support the overall mission, vision, and strategic goals of APS.
Books for the World Fund (OIP)
This fund is used to help scientists, educators, extension personnel and other agriculturalists in developing countries acquire educational materials from APS Press and to promote international distribution of APS Press books, CDs, and other resources.
J. Artie and Arra Browning Plant Medicine and Health Travel Fund
This fund provides graduate students majoring in the Doctor of Plant Medicine, Doctor of Plant Health, and similar programs assistance to attend and participate in a professional meeting or conference appropriate to their interests.
Lafayette Frederick Diversity in Mentoring Fund
Established in 2020, the objective of this experiential award is to support APS members' efforts at mentoring, with an emphasis on mentoring within underrepresented groups.
French-Monar Latin American Fund
This fund was established by Edward R. French and Delia Monar French. Earnings from this endowment will provide support for Latin American plant pathologists to attend meetings, publish in journals, acquire publications, and join professional societies.
Global Experience Fund
(OIP)
The Office of International Programs (OIP) launched this unique program aimed at helping APS plant pathologists working with scientists and extension personnel in developing countries in training and outreach efforts, from funds raised during the OIP Silent Auction.
Frank L. Howard Undergraduate Fellowship Fund
This fund supports undergraduate research projects in plant pathology.
Lucy Hastings de Gutiérrez Fund
This fund provides an honorarium for the APS Excellence in Teaching Award.
The Indian Phytopathology Society Student Travel Grant
This fund encourages plant pathology students residing in India, who are members of The Indian Phytopathology Society (IPS), to attend the APS Annual Meeting or other APS sanctioned meeting if deemed appropriate by IPS and APS Foundation Board.
International Travel Fund
(OIP)
This fund, established with the APS Office of International Programs (OIP), provides a travel grant to early- to mid-career international APS members who are attending and presenting at an APS Annual Meeting.
Student Travel Funds
In addition to the APS Student Travel General Fund, the following named funds provide travel support to APS Student Member presenters who are attending the APS annual meeting.

JANE Fund
(OIP)
The JANE fund was established by Dr. John and Ann Niederhauser and supports international research for both the JANE fund as well as providing an honorarium to the recipient of the APS Excellence in International Service Award.
Mathre Fund for Education
This fund, established by Don and Judy Mathre, supports plant pathology education programs such as the APSnet Education Center. In 2014, it was expanded to include support for students pursuing a variety of projects and experiences.
I. E. Melhus Fund
This fund supports a student speaker or
student symposium at the APS Annual Meeting.
Noel T. Keen Fund
This fund provides an honorarium for the Noel T. Keen Award for Research Excellence in Molecular Plant Pathology.
Plant Pathology Experiential Fund (OPSR)
This fund helps promote career and research development experience and opportunities with organizations classified within industry and/or government. Purpose is to support professional development, learn about career opportunities and/or gain technical expertise in support of current research endeavors.
Schroth Faces of the Future Fund
This fund was established by Milt and Nancy Schroth. Earnings from this endowment support the annual "Faces of the Future" symposium at the APS Annual Meeting, acknowledging up and comers in a specific area of plant pathology research.
The Marie & John Sherwood Fund for Engagement of Underrepresented Minorities in Plant Pathology
Established in 2023, the purpose of this fund is to foster engagement of APS membership and students at minority serving institutions to enhance minority representation in U.S. graduate programs and in organizations that employ plant pathologists.
Steven C. Nelson Early Career Professional Development
Provides support for early career plant pathologists in broadening their professional development through experiential learning and leadership opportunities.
Student Education Fund
Funding provided to further an APS student member's education outside of the APS Annual Meeting to develop skills and/or to network with other scientists.
Raymond J. Tarleton Student Fellowship
Fund supports graduate students in plant pathology research to encourage students to further their careers in plant
pathology.
