Webinar Summary
Many students that pursue scientific careers continue on a research path either in academia or in the industry. Despite having read and written research papers while pursuing their career, there are few instances where the process of reading and writing research papers is done in a rigorous and guided way. The objective of this webinar will be to share tips on how to successfully write a research paper distinguishing the difference between the steps in conducting a research project and the steps in communicating it. Furthermore, tips on how to make the writing process more productive will also be given. Lastly, the fact that the initial research proposal is rarely the final research outcome, will be highlighted. This is crucial because, when writing, we do not necessarily communicate what we did in the order we did it, but instead in an order that makes sense to the reader. That is, ‘If I were to repeat everything, how would I do it’.
