Meeting Events:
Careers 101: CVs 101
Wednesday, March 10th, afternoon
Free – please indicate attendance at the time of registration
The
curriculum vitae (CV) is an essential to every job application, but format and organization can vary by position. Whether applying for a job in academia, industry, or government, a professional CV is critical. This workshop will provide students and early career professionals with experience in creating and tailoring CVs for each position type. An after-hours session will be included for students who wishes to have their CVs reviewed by workshop experts.
For this workshop the students will participate in two breakout sessions where they will work to create a CV for either an academic, industry, or government position. At the end of the workshop we will allow students to work one-on-one with an expert to ask specific questions about their CVs. Once registration closes, we would like a list of all participants as soon as possible so we may contact them with a questionnaire. The questionnaire will let us know which position (industry, government, or academia) they are interested in for the breakout sessions and if they are requesting a one-on-one session.
Provided by the APS Careers 101 work group.
