The thoroughly revised APSnet premiered in early August 2000 at its new address, www.apsnet.org. The new site features many enhancements, including easier navigation
and open access to the items you use most.

Notices, Features, and Image of the Week

At the top of the new home page, we have added a frequently-updated, rotating "notices" box, which highlights key information on APSnet itself, society activities, and plant pathology in general. The popular monthly APSnet feature stories and image of the week will continue to populate the home page as in the past.

Improved Navigation and Fewer Password Restrictions

Navigation of APSnet has been significantly improved through an expanding main menu in the left column that is designed to move users to nearly all pages of the site in an intuitive, efficient manner. Once within a section, links at the top of each page facilitate access to other pages within the same section.

To further improve access, password restrictions have been removed from all areas except journal subscriptions. Nonetheless, journal tables of contents, abstracts, and search capabilities are free.

New Areas to Explore

Three exciting new areas of APSnet include the APSnet Education Center; the journal, Plant Health Progress; and a fully functional e-commerce online bookstore.

I hope that you have already reset your links and bookmarks from the old site to the new. In addition, since the new APSnet is dependent on more recent technologies, I strongly recommend you link from the bottom of the home page to "Viewing Tips" and update your Internet browser as necessary.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with all of the new APSnet initiatives. They are intended to move the society into a new era of online communication, collaboration, and information dissemination. We hope you'll be a frequent visitor.
