​​​The International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP) has established a Resilience Bursary for Plant Pathologists to offer support to plant pathologists in emergency/refugee situations. ISPP is currently raising funds to support displaced plant pathologists from Ukraine and the vital work they do to reduce plant disease losses and assure food and fiber security in the region.

​​​The APS North Central Division held its 74th Annual Meeting in Lincoln, NE, June 21–23, 2022. The meeting had 134 people registered and included two days of scientific presentations, workshops, and opportunities to interact with plant pathologists working in academia, government, and industry.

​The APS Pacific Division held a successful virtual meeting June 22 and 23, 2022. Two days of scientific presentations and interactions included a symposium, technical sessions, the Graduate Student Presentation Competition, and a Careers 101 Workshop on interviewing skills.

​William Orton is one of the earliest and most influential American pathologists, best known for his landmark breeding investigations of Fusarium wilt in cotton, cowpeas, and watermelon. Although generally remembered for his ingenious work with Fusarium wilt control, he made other significant contributions, including work on potato viruses and tropical plant pathology and managing diabetes through diet. These additional achievements are the rest of the story.

​​​Conflicts around the world have displaced many plant pathologists. The International Society for Plant Pathology is establishing a Resilience Bursary for Plant Pathologists to support emergency/refugee situations, specifically for plant pathologists. The current urgent need is for displaced plant pathologists from Ukraine. ISPP is asking affiliate societies and individual members to contribute to a fund-raising campaign to enable support through this program.
