What:
The Northeastern Division is the regional representation of the American Phytopathological Society.
Who:
Eligible members are those members of the APS who live in the geographical region of the Northeatern Division which includes: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and contiguous provinces in Canada.
Why:
1. Annual meeting. The Northeastern Division holds a regional meeting every year. This provides both an intimate venue in which research can be presented, and also provides members the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and share information with colleagues in our area.
2. Graduate Student Presentation Award. The award consists of an inscribed plaque, a $1,000 for travel to a scientific meeting, a one year online or print subscription to one APS journal, as well as membership in both APS and the NE Division.
3. Early Career Award. The award is presented annually by the Northeast Division of APS to recognize an early-career scientist who has made a significant contribution in plant pathology. The notable contribution may be in the area of research, teaching, extension, or service. NED-APS members in academia, industry, government, or private practice are eligible for this award if they are within 10 years of receiving their last academic degree.
4. Award of Merit. The Awards Committee of the NED-APS annually solicits nominations of candidates for the Award of Merit. The purpose of this award is to honor division members who have made substantial contributions to plant pathology
