Careers 101 Workshop: Interviews

Interviews are a critical step in the hiring process, but there are tips and tricks to assure a successful interview. This workshop will provide students and early career professionals with an overview of the process and guidelines for preparing for job interviews in academia, government, and industry. The workshop includes an interactive mock interview session using common interview questions. Lunch will be provided. Workshop is intended for early career professionals, postdocs, and students. You must register by February 21, 2022, to reserve a spot for this event.

Field Tour - Nursery and a Little Taste of Tennessee Tour
Thursday, March 10, 2022; 8:00 AM EST – 7:00 PM EST; Cost: $35 (registration required)
Participants will visit research laboratories and the USDA ARS U.S. National Arboretum laboratories at the Tennessee State University Otis L. Floyd Nursery Research Center in McMinnville to learn about ongoing research on woody ornamental crops. Lunch will be provided at the Tennessee State University Nursery Research Center. After lunch, participants will visit the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg for a distillery tour and whiskey sampling. Transportation by shuttle will be provided. The shuttle will depart from The Read House at 8:00 AM EST and will return to The Read House no later than 7:00 PM EST. Tour participants will travel to all tour stops; alternate arrangements to join or exist the tour late or early will not be made. Participants must be over 21.
You must register by February 21, 2022, to reserve a spot for this event.
There is a limit of 20 spots for this event. Note: If at least 10 people are not registered for this event by January 9, 2022 (advanced registration deadline), the tour will be canceled.
